In 2003, Marcel Vézina and Jean Perreault arrived from Homestead FL with a group of ball players and moved to the Harbor Lakes RV park. The two organizers Marcel and Jean, in 2004, went in search of a ball field and began the formation of two teams. Bravo, they succeeded.
In 2005, they were looking for sponsors and the park manager agreed to supply the balls, the accessories and the first aid kit. Réal Deschesne, for its part, is committed to providing the vests and caps that are replaced each year.
In 2006 Marcel and Jean started a softball league playing every Saturday morning, from December to March. Their efforts have been fruitful.
Today in 2018, the '' Road Runner '' Softball Club is at its peak, comprised of 2 teams of men, women, and visitors on the occasion of Canadian, American and Puerto Rican originality of all ages. By the way, the oldest player will be 87 in March 2018.
There is only one regulation: that all participants have fun, for almost two hours every Saturday, wearing the colors of the Road Runner.
Two captains: Michel Bouchard and Bernard Forcier, referee Michel Venne, three scorers Nathalie Pelletier and Dominique Anselme and Gisele Aucoin.
The great manager of the club, Marcel Vézina, passed (after 14 years of devotion) the responsibility to Francis Bernier. He promises to ensure the continuity of the Port Charlotte “Road Runner” Softball Club.
